This piece provides a high-level look at several ways to earn money by connecting with online companies, the requirements that need to be met, and the potential risks involved. Robinhood

Requirements: US residents only. Minimum 18 years of age. A valid phone number, email, and mailing address. Must link bank account and input your social security number (like you would need to whenever you open a brokerage account).

Robinhood is a commission-free investing platform for the stock market and a handful of cryptocurrencies. They are SIPC insured, meaning securities in your account are protected up to $500,000. Robinhood is also registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Robinhood includes the ability to reinvest dividends, purchase fractional shares, and trade with options, though some of those features require a special application. I personally have an investing portfolio with Robinhood and I enjoy their user-friendly interface. This opportunity is one of the safest and easiest to earn on this list. After meeting the requirements, the investor can easily sell their share and close their account or allow the investment to sit and potentially increase in price or accumulate dividends.

Webull

Webull is a commission-free investing platform and a direct competitor to the aforementioned Robinhood platform. Webull has a much more detailed investing interface that gives users additional tools like screeners, industry overviews, and paper-trading (a stockmarket trading simulator that allows the user to practice trading on the live stock market without any financial risk). The interface can be overwhelming for less experienced investors, but the company is solid. Like Robinhood, Webull is registered by the SEC and FINRA. They are also SIPC insured. Webull offers options trading and cryptocurrency trading after unlocking those features with an application. Like Robinhood, this opportunity is safe. Though with Webull, there are extra hoops to jump through like uploading a photo ID and making a deposit of at least $100.00 to earn the second free stock.

Coinbase is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges where users can buy/sell, trade, and earn interest on their cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrency and block-chain technology is a relatively new and quickly expanding field that may revolutionize the way we exchange money and make purchases. Cryptocurrency does have some inherent risks involved that should be noted. Many cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile and can fluctuate in price without warning. Cryptocurrency is more prone to theft if it is stored online because it is susceptible to hacks. Regulation and taxes on digital currency are confusing and a grey area in some countries and they are not backed by SIPC protections or FDIC insurance. Fortunately, Coinbase stores 98% of customer funds offline as a security measure against loss or theft. For US customers, cash balances are insured by the FDIC because Coinbase pools these funds into US Treasury bonds and money market accounts. It should be noted that Coinbase does have fees for buying and selling which can be reduced by opening a free Coinbase Pro account.

While the deposit reward for Coinbase may be riskier than some of the other offers because of the fluctuation in the value of bitcoin, the additional potential rewards from watching educational videos are very appealing and low risk. Based out of Hong Kong, it offers a unique series of debit rewards cards that make it easier for you to use cryptocurrency in day-to-day shopping. It should be noted that Crypto.com does have a variety of fees for buying and selling digital currency.
Crypto.com has the most restrictive upfront investment in order to secure the $25.00. The staking requirement means you need to purchase approximately $437.00 of the CRO coin and lock it in an interest-bearing account similar to a certificate of deposit for 6 months. Achievement

Requirements: A valid email address. A mobile device with access to the app store. A PayPal account is helpful (but not required). 10,000 points.

Achievement is different from some of the other opportunities in this list. The reward is paid out for earning points, which can be done by connecting a variety of different fitness applications that track your meals, water intake, weight, steps, and workouts. Users can also participate in medical research, questionnaires, and read articles to receive points. While the reward is not immediate and can take quite a bit of time to earn, it is repeatable. I have reached 10,000 points multiple times since downloading the application to my phone and connecting it with Samsung Health and every time I’ve successfully received the $10.00 reward. Very active individuals and people that track their health through apps can earn the reward faster.
